Energy and Health Impact Calculator main page

Air pollution from fossil fuel use causes many health problems and is driving global and local climate crises. Health Care Without Harm’s Energy and Health Impact Calculator ("the Calculator") is a free web-based, self-serve tool that uses data from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), as well as other peer-reviewed data, to estimate the negative public health impacts caused by fossil fuel energy use, and the benefits of energy efficiency and renewable energy. The Calculator estimates the number of health incidents and associated dollar values per unit of fossil fuel emissions, including premature death, hospital admissions, respiratory symptoms, emergency room visits, and more.
